Lily Aldridge hair accomplished!

If you've been following my obsession over Lily Aldridge's hair at all for the last few months, you already know of my agony over not being able to accomplish the look. You can click on these links to my past attempts if you'd like to catch up on my story.

Attempts #1, 2, and 3

But my pain is no more. All because my sweet friend Priscilla pointed me to her friend Julie Brown. Pri told me on facebook how great Julie was and gave me her phone number. So when I text Julie to make an appointment, I was quite surprised to find out she was still in hair school. But after 3 attempts I was feeling a little desperate, plus Pri has great style so I knew I could trust her.

Here are my results...

My hair color changes with the lighting. I noticed Lily's does too so I took in several pictures of her to Julie so I could make sure we were on the same page in achieving the balayage look.

Ombre Hair
This picture is still one of my favorite Lily hair pictures.

Here you can see how much lighter my hair is in outdoor light. This next picture of Lily has a lot of outdoor light as well.

The only thing I'm not 100% happy about is that the dark color Julie put on the back bottom of my hair turned out too dark. I wanted some of the hair in back to be dark like hair would be naturally but it wouldn't be so dark at the tips. Anyways Julie says it will fade out a bit. At this point I'm going to live with it for atleast a month because my poor hair has been through enough! I'm not even planning on blowing it dry for a couple of weeks.

So here's a little advice if you want the summer sun kissed hair on steriods look. Take in pictures, or if you're like me, take in your laptop and show lots of pictures of what you want to achieve and what you don't want. For instance...

That way you don't end up with someone else's interpretation of what your trying to achieve. Trust me! Your hair can only take so many do overs. While I love Drew's outfit, I didn't want her take on the balayage look for me.

Good luck! I  hope my story helps. And please let me know how it goes for you :)

Lily Aldridge hair / 3rd try

So this is how attempt #3 turned out. As you can see, it's not really working out for me.

I did end up with lighter highlights, but it's still not the balayage look.

This is my niece. She has beautiful naturally sun kissed hair which is the whole point. I want my hair to look super sun kissed, not like I got foiled highlights. And don't get me wrong, using foils to highlight works beautifully, it's just not going to accomplish what I'm going for.

I'm starting to wonder if it's even possible for me at this point. Isn't the 3rd try supposed to be charmed?

My Style (for now ;)

I've been finding some really interesting looks that I love, so I wanted to place them all in a post that I could keep referring to.

And I would love to hear from anyone out there that agrees or disagrees or that gets inspired or that is willing to share their exquisite style with me. I'm always open to great style information. It makes me so happy :)

Hope you enjoy...

I love both looks from head to toe
I really wish I owned a pair these jeans. And from what I can see, the whole outfit is rockin'.

I want, I want, I want! All of it! So great for spring.

I do have these babies and I love them! They are so flattering.

Adorable!!!

I love this purse but just saw that it's from Alloy. I bet it looks really cheap in person :(

Here's a fun look Drew's rockin' A new twist on a classic look.

The T back halter is great. I get really tired of the way a lot of bikinis start to hurt the back of my neck after awhile. FYI, it's from Victoria's Secret.
I would love to have this orange dress and I think I would fill it out a lot better than this model. It looks to big for her to me.

Another great boyfriend jean look
Very cute. Would have been perfect for today's weather.

This classic look is one of my favorites. I always feel sexy in a loose fitting top with jeans. And this model did a great job of looking the way I feel.

How could I resist wanting to look so long and slim. The hats cool too.

Michael Kors Spring!
So lovely!

Also great for spring

What a fabulous skirt! What fabulous everything for that matter!

I especially love this shirt and belt. The skirt is too young for me.

This is where comfort meets great style
Very nice! I love it. Wonder what shoes she's wearing?

This dress is also very exciting but I'm left wondering how long it is? What shoes did they style it with?

For me that's the mark of great style. Something that leaves an impression on me and keeps me hungry for more. Something that inspires me to get some retail therapy!

That's all folks! See you soon ;)

Hair Inspiration

My online hair inspiration hair journal. I'm going to have anyone who does my hair from now on (or at least for the next six months) review this post before they do anything to my hair.

These pictures are glorious!!! I have such hair envy over them.

SJP has never looked better. I love her highlights. I wouldn't mind this color for me one bit!

I've always wondered what I would look like as a blond. If I ever have the guts to try, I hope it looks this great!

Or even this. Her hair looks a little darker to me. Maybe this is getting closer to what I could actually pull off.

Michelle Williams hair is even closer still in this picture to what I might try.

But until I get that brave, I would love love love to be able to accomplish this look. This color and the way the highlights have been placed are exactly what I want!

Jessica Biel's hair looks fabulous here. I think this look could only be accomplished if your stylist was a true hair artist.

And of coarse, I'm still stuck on Lily Aldridge hair. She wears it so well!

Even J. Lo has rocked the look.

I've studied the Ombre hair or Balayage highlights so much that I'm almost sick of this hair trend  already, except for the fact that I have yet to rock the look and I really want to have been able to have done it. If I don't I probably feel like I went through the 80's without having big hair.

And for a slight change of subject, other than color, here are some fun hairdo's I would like to try...

I think this is a great look for the second or even third day without washing.

I love how perfectly messy this bun is.

And this style just looks so sweet!

 Another great messy bun

And she just looks cool. At first glance I thought it was Kim Kardashian but it's not. I've found that these headbands are also great for dirty hair days.

Another bun I love. I think this is Kortney Kardasian but I'm not 100% sure. Anyone know?

My hair layers are just now getting long enough for me to try this bun too. I love it!

This updo is amazing. But so is everything about this girl!

So there you have it. All these buns, braids and highlights will totally get me through this summer. Now let's see what I'll actually be able to accomplish.

I'll keep you posted ;)
