Day 4 was also a slower more relaxing day. In the morning we went to Mark's to learn about photo editing. It's so easy to get lost in a project when the subject matter is so interesting.
Mark Lee was so patience with us and our learning pace. He's a true professional and a class act. He also told us about his friend Devin Graham. Devin is a videographer. His work is becoming so viral from his post on youtube. Mark showed us a couple of his latest videos. We were very impressed with his work, the say the least. We would meet Devin the following day for Ashley's photo shoot with Mark. As usual for me, the time forced us to find a good stopping point.
Next up for Ashley and I would be the Polynesian Cultural Center. Her cute grandfather David Hannemann is a retired VP for the center. He was kind enough to get us a couple of passes and even insisted our being our personal tour guide.
Next up was the Canoe Show.
We ended up only having time for 3 villages. Then we took a canoe to the other side of the center.
The guy on the right in this picture is Ashley's uncle Derrell Hannemann. He's a lifeguard on Pipeline Beach in Hawaii. Derrell has lived on Hawaii's north shore for most of his life. He also lived in Costa Rica as a teenager because of the great surf there.
This particular article list him as an alternate for the 2011 Eddie Aikau surf competition. Unfortunately it was canceled this year because of inconsistent waves.
Better luck next year Derrell! May the waves be with you ;)
After a day at the PCC Grandpa Hannemann and Uncle Art picked us up for dinner and family fun at the Hannemann home. Then they took us back to the PCC for the night show.
It was fabulous! A must see for anyone visiting Oahu's north shore.
After the show, we went back home. I ended up editing photo's till about 3 am. Like I said, it's so easy for me to get lost in a project I'm interested in! :)
