This one's for Dolly, my little big sister that seems to be able to do anything! She's totally fearless and one of my all time favorite people. She definitely has a gift in design and a can do attitude in seemingly impossible situations.
The previous owners did a great job in the work they put into the home thus far. But their family is off to Thailand, so Dolly get's to pick up where they left off. And of course I'll be volunteering to help her finish :)
This home is perfect for her modern taste, so Dolly is about to buy her 4th property!
and here it is...
All this Scrub Oak will fill in to create a great privacy screen in the warmer months.
View from an upstairs bedroom balcony of the valley and Utah lake.
The artwork they had in this home was amazing! The painting above is selling for $32,000. I love it but WHAT! I kept thinking they meant to say $3,200 but I guess that just goes to show you how little I understand the value of art. I bought a giant framed map of London for $500 a couple of years ago and I thought that was a big deal.
To be honest, I didn't care for this spire stairwell the first time I saw this home. I kept going over in my head how she could change it but after they staged it, this area became one of my favorite parts of the home.
Actually I'm surprised my ego allowed me to publicly admit that. My pride usually dictates that I keep those things to myself. I guess I'm growing up!
Dolly's thinking of turning this master bedroom into a large closet. I love the idea and can't wait to help decorate the place. She will just put their bedroom in the loft up above. She says it will make her feel like she's in a nest. It's different, but I think it sounds fun.
Ashley's very into the making a large master closet idea. That's her dream come true. Some day Ash, some day.
I think she should add a pantry on the other side of the fridge. That space currently is for a large hall closet. She would still have half of the closet left after capturing the space for the kitchen.
Too bad all this great artwork isn't staying. Or is it? If I know Dolly it wouldn't surprise me to see it still there.
And all the cool chairs. They were even better in person!!!
When your in this home you can't help standing in front of the windows with such great views everywhere!
I'm so glad they knew enough to keep all the original gems and replace everything gross with modern elements that stayed true to the architects original design from the 70's.
This beautiful entry light hangs up above the blue painting. Isn't it great?
This house has views, views, and more views. The windows and overall design are amazing! Dolly helped stage it for the open house / auction they had for it last Monday.
I took pictures till my camera battery died. But you can see the home professionally photographed at http://annalisaphotography. net/clients/oakhills/
